Robbie Wright joined Wellington Group Marketing & PR in January of 2017 as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Robbie is a startup guy by nature and has been helping companies acquire customers through digital marketing for more than 15 years. He has the unique experience of being a part of three different startups that had successful exits or are still alive and kicking today.
Prior to joining Wellington Group, Robbie was co-founder and CEO of Bounce Energy, a digitally driven competitive retail energy business that was later acquired by Direct Energy. After the acquisition, Robbie stayed at Direct Energy and ran the Digital & Innovation department as their youngest Vice President. Robbie also served as a SVP of Customer Experience at White Fence, an ecommerce home services business based out of Houston, Texas.
Robbie attended the University of Texas, where he graduated from McCombs School of Business with a BBA in Finance. He is from Houston, Texas where he now lives with his wife and children. Robbie is an active investor and supporter of the startup community in Texas.
Sabrina joined Wellington Group Marketing & PR in January 2017 as Co-Owner and Executive Vice President. Sabrina has a background in technology, optimization, digital conversion, operations, and leading teams. Serving in management and leadership scenarios, Sabrina has led many teams and enjoys watching people grow and flourish.
Prior to joining Wellington Group, Sabrina served as Senior Vice President of Optimization at White Fence, an ecommerce home services business based out of Houston, Texas. During her time at White Fence Sabrina worked with the technology team, which served her well when she and a team of others started Bounce Energy, a digitally-driven competitive retail energy business, starting their technology from scratch. Sabrina served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Bounce Energy, which was later acquired by Direct Energy. After the acquisition, Sabrina stayed at Direct Energy, serving as the Director of Digital Conversion. Sabrina’s extensive background gives her the ability to bring process to chaos, allowing her to focus on higher level creativity.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Sabrina later lived on the East coast for 8 years where she attended boarding school, followed by 4 years at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a marketing and management degree. Today, Sabrina again lives in Houston, now with her husband and two young children.
Liz joined Wellington Group Marketing & PR in March of 2017 as the Senior Vice President. She is responsible for business development and partnership efforts. With more than 15 years of experience, she has spent most of her career working at or building startups.
Prior to joining Wellington Group, Liz was with Direct Energy, where she served as the Senior Director of Innovation. In this role, Liz was an integral part of the product development team. She joined Direct Energy as the result of the acquisition of Bounce Energy, where she was a co-founder.
Raised in Austin, Texas, she attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she received her B.S. in MIS. Outside of work, Liz is a part of the Children’s Fund and is an active investor in the startup space. In her free time, Liz enjoys teaching level 1 Crossfit and spending time with her three young children.
Tara joined Wellington in April of 2016 as the Marketing Director. She is responsible for paid search efforts, SEO strategy and conversion. With more than 15 years of experience in the digital marketing industry, her specialty lies in paid media and search.
Prior to joining Wellington, Tara was with DefensiveDriving.com, where she worked her way from Marketing Manager to Marketing Director of ECommerce. In addition to her responsibilities there, she was also an integral part of the startup QualityAirFilters.com.
Born and raised in Sugarland, Texas, she later attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she graduated with an MBA. Tara is a married mother of three small children, and enjoys fitness, spending time with her friends, and trying out new local restaurants.
Russell joined the Wellington team in April of 2017 as the Director of Creative Services. He has more than 15 years of experience in web and graphic design and specializes in crafting engaging user experiences.
Prior to Wellington, Russell was with Bounce Energy, which was later acquired by Direct Energy. While at Bounce, Russell's primary responsibilities were web design and graphic design. After the acquisition, Russell stayed on at Direct, where he moved into a managerial role, serving as the Manager of Digital Experience Design.
Russell grew up all over the place, spending time in Chicago, Southlake and eventually graduating high school in Hong Kong. He attended Texas Tech University, where he graduated with a B.A. in Design Communication.
Russell and his wife, Ashley, have been married for 12 years and have a 6-year-old daughter. In his free time, he enjoys performance cars, videogames and DIY home projects.
